Johann Georg Platzer, an Austrian painter of the Rococo period, was known for his intricate depictions of mythological opulence and dramatic chiaroscuro lighting. His works often shimmer with theatrical elegance and feature gods, goddesses, and mortals tangled in moments of glory, excess, or divine judgment. 

In the myth of King Midas, desire meets downfall. His greedy wish for gold becomes a curse, turning all that he touches into lifeless metal. His feast turns to metal, his daughter to a statue, his love entombed in glittering grief. Platzer captures this moment of overindulgence with lavish, almost decadent brushstrokes, allowing light to dance across golden surfaces and flesh alike. 

Glowing like sunlight on newly forged gold, Midas Touch opens with a radiant blend of sparkling Bergamot, warm Gurjum balsam, and creamy Tuberose.  The heart unfolds into an intoxicating blend of Rose, Osmanthus, rich Leather, and resinous Cistus Labdanum, evoking the opulent weight of desire. The base settles into a powerful embrace of Patchouli, Nagarmota, golden Benzoin Siam, and prized Oud—an echo of Midas’s legacy: divine, dangerous, and unforgettable.
